In 2006, Bayflite began upgrading the fleet of Eurocopter BK 117s to the more modern EC 135. Bayflite 4 was the first to go operational in the EC 135 in January of 2007.
EC 135
This light twin-engine, very powerful multi mission helicopter has outstanding performance with tomorrows technology. It is unmatched maneuverability, up-to-the-minute technology and panoramic visibility make it a safe bet for any challenging mission. The low-noise, low-maintenance Fenestron tail rotor makes it the quietest helicopter in its class. The end result is a state-of-the art, multi-mission helicopter that’s extremely reliable and cost-efficient. The EC135 can be equipped with 2 FADEC controlled Turbomeca ARRIUS 2B2 or Pratt and Whitney 206B2 engines.
